247 - The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) resumes on Thursday (June 29) at 9 am the trial of the Electoral Judicial Investigation Action, which seeks the ineligibility of Jair Bolsonaro. The session will start with the vote of Minister Raul Araújo, followed by the votes of Ministers Floriano de Azevedo Marques, André Ramos Tavares, Cármen Lúcia (Vice-President of the TSE), Nunes Marques, and finally, Alexandre de Moraes, the President of the Court.

The trial began on June 22, when the Chief Justice of the Electoral Court, Minister Benedito Gonçalves, read the full report, a summary of the proceedings of the case at the TSE, informing about the requested investigations, the testimonies taken, as well as the expert examinations and the measures requested by the rapporteur during the procedural stage.

In the same session, the representative of the Democratic Labor Party (PDT) presented the arguments of the accusation, the lawyer defended the accused, and the Electoral Public Ministry (MP Eleitoral) presented an opinion on the case.

In the session on Tuesday (June 27), Minister Benedito Gonçalves presented his vote and expressed his position for the ineligibility of Jair Bolsonaro for eight years due to the abuse of political power and improper use of media during a meeting with foreign ambassadors at the Palácio da Alvorada on July 18, 2022. Benedito stated that Bolsonaro had direct and personal responsibility for committing "illicit conduct for the benefit of his reelection campaign." The period of ineligibility is counted from the 2022 elections.
