247 - President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva addressed in his weekly podcast, this Tuesday (11), not only the importance of political negotiation, but also made comments on the president of the Central Bank, Roberto Campos Neto, and the expectations in relation to interest rates in the country. The basic interest rate is currently at 13.75%, despite pressure from the Lula government and the improvement in the economy.

Lula called the president of the Central Bank "stubborn", in a criticism of his conservative position. However, he said he believes interest rates will drop. He also highlighted the growing signs of optimism about the Brazilian economy.

"Soon the interest rate will drop, because the BC president is stubborn... We have to be calm, we can't do magic. And always eep an eye on the most needy people," said Lula on the EBC podcast.
